Winter is here with not much snow to speak of and ice fishing has been off to a slow start.  It certainly doesn’t sound like a good old-fashioned Maine winter!  However, as Somerset County Republicans, winter hasn’t slowed us down a bit.  We are very busy getting ready for our county-wide caucus on February 4th and those of you in the towns of Canaan, Fairfield, Harmony, Hartland, Madison, Pittsfield, Ripley and Skowhegan will be holding separate caucuses. 

The county-wide caucus will be held:

We’re excited to be part of the caucus process and on February 11th, we’ll find out who was selected as the nominee for the presidential preference poll.

Those who become delegates or alternates will participate in the 2012 Maine Republican State Convention to be held on Saturday May 5th and Sunday May 6th at the Augusta Civic Center.

As if February wasn’t busy enough, we have our Lincoln Day Dinner coming up on Saturday, February 18th, 6:00 PM @ the Skowhegan Community Center, 39 Poulin Drive, Skowhegan.  Our guest speaker will be Governor Paul LePage.  Our State Treasurer, Bruce Poliquin will also be speaking.  Come join us for a fun, patriotic and memorable evening that includes a three course meal catered by Kel-Mat Café in Skowhegan.  Tickets are only $20 per person.  A very limited amount of tickets may be available at the door for purchase.  Don’t miss this opportunity!   Call ahead for tickets by contacting: Sharon Bolduc 453-2661 or Dena Worster 938-4477.
