PLEASE NOTE: The next meeting is Thursday, May 24th at 6:00 PM at the Skowhegan Church of the Nazarene.   Election of SCRC officers (County Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) will be held followed by a candidates forum.

Candidates for the US Congress 2nd District seat (running against Mike Michaud) and the US Senate seat vacated by Olympia Snowe, will be in attendance. A confirmed list of candidates who will be attending will be available soon.

Somerset County is in central Maine. Made up of many rural towns, plantations, unorganized territories, and several larger towns, Somerset County extends from Fairfield in the south to the Canadian border in the north, and from Detroit in the east to New Portland in the west. Skowhegan is the County Seat and our largest town with a population of about 9,000. This web site provides information about our Republican candidates and elected officials, upcoming meeting and events, contact information and links to various web sites supporting Republican ideals.

Our committee strives to:

  • Assist Republican voters by providing information and  other needed services;
  • Recruit, nominate, and ELECT well-qualified candidates  for office;
  • Assist our candidates through the election campaign  process;
  • Assist our Republican Elected Officials; and
  • Protect the interests of the Republican Party and our  candidates at the polls.

All Republicans are invited to attend our meetings.
